Here are pictures released by Ujung Kulon National Park of an adult male Javan rhino that was caught by a video trap at Ujung Kulon National Park in West Java, Indonesia.

The little ones are cute.

Who does not want to hug a bunny or a cat? A giant cat is even much better, don’t you think?

The giant cat name is “Oscar”.


The fat squirrel is a garden squirrel that sleep during the winter.

Bodmin is the bunny that won’t stop growing. At 88lbs and from Essex, England, he is likely to break the world record of 115lbs.

Proboscis Monkey – Nobody really knows what the noses of these primates from Borneo are for.

Naked Mole Rat – Buck teeth and almost no hair doesn’t do much for this burrowing, intensely social animal from Sub-Saharan African.

Long-eared Jerboa – This Mongolian rodent is endangered.

Elephant Shrew – Elephant shrews were so named because they resemble a shrew with a long nose.

Philippine Tarsier – Look at those giant eyes of one of the smallest primates in the world.

Melanie Typaldos of Buda, Texas, is the proud owner of Caplin, a capybara. “I absolutely love Caplin and Caplin loves me too,” she says.

Typaldos fell in love with the super-sized cousin of the guinea pig on a family vacation. She found a breeder in the States and brought Caplin home when he was 11 days old. Here, a family member bottle-feeds baby Caplin.

Caplin has a gentleman’s manners in the house. Typaldos gives the animal free reign to roam around the living room.

Capybaras are semi-aquatic. They transform from lumbering land creatures to moving with astonishing grace underwater. Luckily for Caplin, he has a pool and a stream nearby for exercise.

I wonder why the acts below from a cats fashion show are not considered animal cruelty. I do not think the cat pictures are funny. And I don’t think as well that the cats were happy of what they were made to wear. This is just plain cruel. What do you think?

Dogfish – also known as a cat shark fish. It usually refers to a type of shark.


Catfish – named for their prominent barbels, which resemble a cat’s whiskers.

Parrotfish – are named for their dentition, which also is distinct from that of other Labrids. Their numerous teeth are arranged in a tightly packed mosaic on the external surface of the jaw bones, forming a parrot-like beak.

Goatfish – Like goats, they seek anything edible; worms, crustaceans, molluscs and other small invertebrates are staples.

Cowfish – It comes in a variety of different colors, and is notable for the hexagonal or “honeycomb” patterns in itsr skin and skeletons.

Batfishes – have broad, flat heads and slim bodies and are covered with hard lumps and spines. Some species have an elongated, upturned snout. Most live in the deep sea, but some inhabit shallow water.

Lionfish – The lionfish is also known as the Turkey Fish, Scorpion or Fire Fish.

Pigfish – often mistaken for their close cousin, pinfish, are actually members of the grunt family.

Lizardfish – has slender, somewhat cylindrical body, and head that resembles that of a lizard.

Frogfish – have a stocky appearance, atypical of fish. Frogfishes are found in almost all tropical and subtropical oceans and seas around the world.

Wolffish – Wolffishes are a family, Anarhichadidae, of perciform fishes. They are native to cold waters of the northern Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, where they live on the continental shelf and slope, to depths of about 600 m.

Tigerfish – is the common name for a variety of species from several different families of fish, usually on account of their colouration or otherwise fearsome appearance.

Goosefish – they have a very large head with a large mouth that bears long, sharp, recurved teeth.

Scorpionfish – As the name suggests, scorpionfish have a type of “sting” in the form of sharp spines coated with venomous mucus.

Zebrafish – It is a popular aquarium fish, frequently sold under the trade name zebra danio, and is an important vertebrate model organism in scientific research.

Squirrelfish – Squirrel fish live in rocky or coral reefs in tropical and warm temperate seas. Their most distinguishing characteristics are their large eyes and their ability to make sounds to ward off intruders.

Rabbitfish – found in shallow lagoons, have small, hare-like mouths, large dark eyes, and a peaceful temperament. They are colorful, and have well developed, venomous dorsal and anal fin spines.

Hawkfish – have large heads with thick, somewhat elongate bodies. Most hawkfish are solitary in nature but some will form pairs and share a head of coral.

Happy Father’s Day to all fathers, including the “animal” fathers. The pictures below show the male animals taking care of their babies (at some point, the eggs). Let us give these male animals some love.

Seahorses are a type of fish in which the males actually get “pregnant.” The female seahorse deposits her eggs in the male’s specialized pouch, and the male carries up to 2,000 babies during its 10- to 25-day pregnancy.


For most birds, females are stuck with child care, but not so for the South America’s greater rhea (chicks nestle into their dad’s back feathers at Washington D.C.’s National Zoo).

Male marmosets in South America not only carry, feed, and groom their twin babies (pictured, a baby black-tailed marmoset with its mother in a Tokyo zoo), they may even act as “midwives” during birth, grooming and licking the newborns.

Cockroach fathers will even eat bird droppings to obtain nitrogen, a necessary part of their diet, and carry it back to their young (below, German cockroach babies emerge from an egg).

Made famous by the movie March of the Penguins, emperor penguin fathers endure below-freezing temperatures and forgo food to incubate their eggs. After the female lays a single egg, her mate rests it on his feet and covers it with a flap of skin (below, a penguin protects its chick using the same skin flap).

Aside from the dinosaurs, were there other animals or beasts that were considered giants, in comparison to what they we have now? Yes there were. Based from fossils collected, there were beasts that existed that you probably haven’t heard about.

1. Fossils discovered in northeastern Colombia’s Cerrejon coal mine indicate the biggest snake ever was at least 42 feet (13 meters) long and weighed 2,500 pounds (1,135 kilograms).

2. The bad-tempered Beelzebufo, or “devil frog” was a “rather intimidating animal the size of a beach ball, 16 inches (41 centimeters) high and weighing about 10 pounds (4.5 kilograms).”

3. Giant Kangaroos – The 1,000-pound (500-kilogram) prehistoric kangaroo — Palorchestes azael — was among a handful of Tasmanian megafauna species driven to extinction by human activity more than 40,000 years ago.
