Which dog is the tallest dog in the world?

Boomer, a 180-pound Landseer Newfoundland dog, drinks water from the kitchen sink at Caryn Weber’s home south of Casselton, N.D. The dog measures seven feet from nose to tail. stands 36 inches tall at the shoulders, measures 7 feet from nose to tail, and weighs 180 pounds. Weber will send his measurements to Guinness World Records for consideration as the tallest living dog.


Gibson, the California dog dubbed the tallest in the world by the Guinness Book of World Records, died on Aug. 7, 2009 after a battle with bone cancer. The 7-year-old harlequin Great Dane from Grass Valley measured 7 feet, 1 inch when standing on its hinds legs.

The Borzoi is a tall dog that has an aristocratic appearance because of its height and its long narrow head. Height: males at least 28 inches (71 cm), females at least 26 inches (66 cm)

Radar, at 6ft 71/2in from hoof to shoulder, is from Mount Pleasant, Texas.
